Description

On behalf of our client, a large international manufacturer of high-level electrical equipment and solutions and a leader in digital technologies for energy management, we are looking for a Project Manager in Automation Technologies, who will be responsible for project management and aftersales services in the Industrial Automation Technologies sector.

Location: Uccle, Brussels + flexible homeworking option

Responsibilities

As a Project Manager in Automation Technologies, you will focus on providing new or upgrading existing solutions within the industrial automation spectrum. You will be in contact with clients from various sectors, such as machine building, steel industry, petrochemical industry, pharmaceutical sector, food sector, etc.; and you will ensure smooth cooperation between clients, suppliers, and project team members.

As a Project Manager in Automation Technologies, you will have a dual role – in project management and after-sales service. Your key responsibilities will be as follows:

Project Management:

• Work with existing clients; manage projects from A to Z – offer new solutions or an upgrade of existing ones; work also with new clients that need new equipment and solutions
• Manage different aspects – budget, technical solutions, quality, health and safety, relations with suppliers, certified installers, and other stakeholders
• Coordinate work with the service or installation team
• Execute audit of automation architectures
• Engineer revamping projects (upgrades, renovations, and software upgrades/implementation)
• Assist in the commissioning of industrial automation architectures (controllers, switches, speed controllers, industrial PCs, and industrial networks)
• Audit reporting and tendering
• Execution of the Service Level Agreements

Aftersales Service

• Coordinate aftersales service projects
• Follow up on existing clients that already have your hardware and software running
• Answer different client needs or demands relative to new or existing solutions
• Organise and/or participate in technical workshops and training sessions, when needed
• Occasionally participate in the on-call service
• Provide assistance in handling technical requests

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering degree (Information Technologies, Computer Science, Industrial Automation, or similar)
• Native proficiency in one of the two national languages (French or Dutch); knowledge of the other will be an asset
• Proven technical knowledge and commercial experience in a similar role
• Passion for technology and automation
• An affinity for the latest trends and best practices in the digitally oriented world
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, network infrastructure, and MS Office suite
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making mindset
• Hard worker, customer-oriented
• Willingness to learn and face new challenges continually
• Good communication skills and ability to build sustainable and reliable client relationships
• Excellent organisation skills and ability to deal with an intense workload
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
