HSE Engineer for Industrial Environment (Electromechanics)

For one of its clients – an international player engaged in the manufacture of electrical devices and sales of related services – Artemys is looking for an HSE Engineer for Industrial Environment, who will ensure effective implementation of the HSE management systems, policies, and standards.

Location: Flanders (you manage your own agenda)


Key roles and responsibilities:

• On the longer term and after a training period, ensure that all applicable HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures are consistently implemented and followed on-site and throughout the organisation
• Provide technical support to the HSE team in planning, coordinating, and implementing the HSE policies and procedures, and achieving the defined goals and objectives
• Visit frequently sites across the country and perform regular HSE audits: perform regular site inspections to verify the safety of working conditions, the provision and the correct use of personal protective equipment. Homeworking is possible for some days. You manage your own agenda.
• Act as an HSE coach for all aspects of health and safety at work – work closely with, and provide relevant technical support to the management team, all Project Managers, team leaders, and project teams and act as their HSE mentor. You are able to deal with various levels of stakeholders
• Maintain awareness of evolving industry HSE regulations and standards, monitor compliance, and provide advice on safe systems of work to comply with current and new HSE Legislation
• Ensure regular training courses and drills are carried out as part of the company’s Training and HSE Program
• Communicate with clients on a regular basis on all HSE-related matters, and where necessary attend client meetings
• Upskill yourself continuously via a series of workshops and training courses

It is equally important that you have:

• Relevant technical degree (electromechanics), feeling high level with onsite work environments
• Relevant experience in a technical environment – experience in the electrical environment is a plus
• Excellent organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and ERP/CRM related tools
• Native proficiency in French or Dutch (ideally both)
